Just out of curiosity, what do you think of the whole nose-bleed/brain cancer/sick!Michael storyline?
I really dislike it, and here's why:
I understand the desire to add drama by throwing in illness. I'm not even against Michael being sick. However, there are so many better ways they could have done this than the 'Mom was just like Michael, and she had a tumor, now Michael has a tumor" shtick they chose. 1. He could have been sick due to exhaustion. This man has been running on all cylinders for a year or so now. He's constantly been on the run. Not sleeping, not eating well. He was in a horrible prison. His immune system could be just giving up because of all the stress. I would love to have him just collapse from everything he's been through.
2. Sona was awful. Unhygenic, unclean, etc. He could have picked up something there, a virus, a parasite. It would be logical and a natural progression. (And, writing this, I realized that, dude, Alex took intravenous drugs there. If I'd been thinking, he and Michael would not have had anal sex in this section. I'm kind of angry at myself)
3. Way back in season 1, he screwed around with his insulin levels to get into the infirmary. I'd accept that he was experiencing side-effects of that now.
4. And, if they really wanted to go this tumor route, I wish it'd been there from the beginning. Not explicitly, but just a subtle feeling that Michael wasn't all physically healthy. That there was another reason he was willing to do this for Lincoln, and that was because he knew he had nothing to lose. He was going to be gone in a year or so. I'm not sure how they could have done that without being over the top, but I would have accepted it better then.
Now, maybe the PTB will surprise me. I hope so. But, so far, I'm not liking it.
